dress!

We found my dress! Saturday Morgan, JaNae, Rachel and I shopped around at various Bridal stores. I tried one on last week that I absolutely loved, and every dress I tried on since then, I compared to that one. Well, we ended up back at David's Bridal in Provo trying on my favorite dress again, and I was sold. It is exactly what I wanted, it is honestly beautiful. I can't wait! We had to order it because the dress in the store was too short for me (Im not even that tall. whats that about.) So it won't be here until May, but I am glad I found it. We also found our Bridesmaid dresses and shoes and Flower girl dresses. The bridesmaid dresses are black taffeta, tea length, with purple sashes, and the flower girls are in purple tea length fluffy dresses. They are cute! They even had a tiny matching flower girl dress for Scott and JaNae's baby who will only be about six weeks old.

We decided to go to Cancun for our honeymoon. Neither of us has been to Mexico before, and we thought this would be the perfect time. We booked our trip yesterday and now I get to start shopping for beach wear! I seriously can't wait- it is going to be so much fun!

So our engagement pics are in like, ten days and I have been shopping around for something to wear. Jazz just LOVES to shop so I know this is his favorite thing in the world...but we will find something adorable. Jazz looks cute all the time so it won't be hard. The tricky part will be getting him to not do his "cheese face" in all the photos.

There is still so much to do! Register...Find a place to live...get invitations out... just when I think I am pretty much done I remember all this new stuff I need to complete. Not that I am complaining, I love planning and being organized. Its so fun.

wedding stuff and more wedding stuff!

Our plans are coming along so well! We have both been working so hard to get everything set for the wedding. Jazz is so busy with work, he has been so sweet to come with me to photographer and catering meetings. We have definitely made some progress! We have our venue, catering, decorating, photographer, flowers, and engagement pics all set to go. The major things are all decided, now we are just hammering out the details.

I am excited because tomorrow my bridesmaids are coming with me to shop for a dress! All except my sister Sabrina, she is in London for a semester abroad and is greatly missed. We have appointments in Salt Lake at some different bridal shops to look at gowns and kind of figure out what I want to wear. This is like every girl's dream, and I just want to find the perfect dress so I can see Jazzy's jaw drop when I am walking down the aisle.

We are also going to California in a few weeks to have our engagement pictures taken in the sunshine. It is just too snowy and bleak here- plus we want to see my parents and talk about everything with them. I haven't seen them since Christmas and I am so looking forward to getting home.

I was thinking about this time last year, when I had first met Jazz. We had just started dating in the begining and February, and were pretty much inseperable. In my journal on March 5th I wrote "Well, I’m definitely in love with him. I hate being away from him. I could just stay with him in Salt Lake forever. When we are apart we are constantly talking, figuring out when we can get together again. Its so nice to be needed. Its nice to talk to someone who genuinely wants to know how my day was. I love taking care of him, I just want to share everything with him."

I am so excited to get married- I feel so lucky to have found someone who takes care of me and loves me unconditionally. Soon I will be able to stay with him in Salt Lake forever and I can't wait. June 14th just can't come fast enough!

I am so excited I can hardly wait-- and the planning is already keeping me very busy. Jazz has been very helpful in finding great resources for the wedding. Four months from today exactly! Mark those calendars....

The Ring!

Lady's and Gentlemen, Introducing the newest member of our family!

We call it: "the rock"!

So totally surprised

I know Jazz already posted, but I just wanted to share my side of the story! So I kinda knew it was coming, we had picked out rings and everything, but Jazz and my brother made it sound like it wouldn't be for atleast a week. I was so anxious and excited and didn't want to wait that long at all! I also knew he wanted to ask my dad's permission, and he kept telling me how nervous he was to call home to California and talk to my parents. Little did I know that he had already called and disussed everything. It seems that everyone knew except for me!

We were at my Aunt's house for my cousins birthday and some fun bingo games. We had been there for about two hours and Jazz didn't seem nervous or anything. It didn't even cross my mind that he had the ring and might propose. Jazz came over to me and wanted to make an announcement...well you can watch it on the video that Jazz posted. I was completely and utterly shocked! It was just perfect to have my entire family there watching and supporting us, I loved it. The ring is absolutely beautiful and is exactly what I always dreamed of. I am so excited to plan our June wedding-- so everyone clear your calendars! I love Jazz so much and can't wait to start our life together.

The Time is Now!!!!

So on February 10th, 2008 I asked Miccolene Sumsion to marry me! I asked her parents for her hand in marriage on Thursday February 7th, 2008 and they were more then glad to accept! I then was able to successfully surprise her in front of her family. I came up with the plan of making her think the ring wouldn't be ready until next weekend with the help of her brother Scott who works for ShaneCo(a jewelry company). I Love Micci with all my heart and so excited to start this journey with her! -Jazzy

Me and Jazzy

Jazz and I started this blog (well, actually Jazz) to keep our friends and family updated on our pending future together. I am new to blogging and am still kind of figuring out what this whole thing is about. Jazz and I have been dating for a year this Saturday, and it has been the best year of our lives! He is taking me to the Melting Pot to celebrate and I am so looking forward to that. Stay tuned for more info on upcoming "events" with the two of us!
