I swear I used to blog about other things than pictures of my kids. Didn't I? I did, right? I would like to blog about our awesome stroller and post a tour of Lincoln's nursery and tell you about our exciting trip we are taking and get your ideas for summertime dinner plans because yikes everything is so hot. But instead here is another bombardment of really, really, really cute pictures of my babies.

Also: Lincoln is over 17 pounds. And so so ticklish. I had a cold this week- blerg. Wish there were more nursing-approved drugs for that. My parents got to visit baby Margo and I am green with envy. Isabelle hates to wear clothes. And she peed on the floor today. Awesome. My bangs are insanely long like I could probably blow dry them to the side but I'm waiting for LannyMac to get home from her epic summer trip for a cut/color. (She's been gone for an entire month, for real. Hurry up, Lanny.)

Here is baby Margo. I call her Margarita, just for fun. Isn't she beautiful? I neeeed to hold her.

summer visitors

We've had some visitors! Jazz's mom Bobbie and our nephew Dayton came for a visit last week and it was great to see our Utah family. Isabelle totally has a new BFF, despite their 7 year age difference... as soon as she woke up she said, "Where's Dayton?" and basically followed him around all day for five days. She wanted to do anything he did and go wherever he went. Driving to church was a HUGE drama fest since her car seat wasn't in Dayton's car and we didn't have time to switch it, imagine having to drive four minutes without him!

Dayton got to play Lego Harry Potter on the Wii, Isabelle just mostly waved a controller around and yelled "I DO IT" whenever he did. After he left she got a controller out and said, "Mom turn on Harry Potter please." Cracked me up.

By mid June here it is usually ROASTING roasty death fire hot, but this year has been so pleasant.  We've had some cooler temperatures and even a few rain storms (whaat!) so we were actually able to be outside and play. I'm so grateful we have a little backyard, it is so nice to throw the ball around and chase Iz on the grass. Was also nice just to sit as a family and chat.

We of course made a quick trip to the lake despite the colder weather- everyone wore pants and sweaters which is INSANE CRAZY for June. Usually you just show up naked. You can tell Linc has an older sister and girl cousins because everything is pink. Sorry dude, we will work on that for you.

Thanks Rach and Sean for his hoodie!

Three generations.

Fat sumo baby. Linc was not thrilled about the sausage vest. He cried unless we were moving, so we just drove around for awhile until he went to sleep. Boats are magic.

Isabelle drove us into the slip (no people, she didn't really.) but she loves to pretend to drive.

We also went swimming and had a bbq and went to see Madagascar 3 which was super fun (even Lincoln survived!) but I failed at taking pictures. Hands = full. Bobbie treated us to lunch and fresh donuts and was so helpful with baby Linc and entertaining Isabelle. We are so glad they came to visit us!

Lincoln 5 Months

Yesterday marked five months with baby Linc. This was the month that he was all, "whats up I'm not a newborn anymore" kind of a month. He has this big vibrant personality developing and its so fun to see what makes him laugh or what grabs his attention.  He is getting more on a schedule during the day, and sad to say- less of a schedule at night. What gives, kid. He is still the KING of catnaps- 30 minutes on the dot unless he is held which is fun/exhausting. I'm sure eventually we will get him sleeping better and in his crib for his naps.

I love this one. Just loungin'.

I'm guessing he weighs about 16 pounds, that is just speculation but judging from my major arm fatigue I think that's about right. He LOVES to be held. He likes to sit on my hip and just make sure he is a part of whatever is going on. He especially loves to watch Isabelle. LIKE A HAWK. I'm sure this will only get more fun for them to interact together. He does not appreciate when we leave the room. He instantly hollers at us to make sure he isn't forgotten. In the night when he wants to be fed I have to pass by his bed to use the restroom before I nurse, and when he sees me walk away from him he totally FREAKS OUT. Even though I will be right back.

Big news this month- He got two teeth June 3rd and shortly thereafter experienced rice cereal. Since then he mostly eats applesauce 2-3 times a day as well as all of his normal nursing sessions. (!!) We have also tried carrots and you can see he really enjoyed them.

Teeth!
Linc still loves his bathtime. He could seriously sit and splash forever, he never fusses until he has been removed from the tub then he is super mad. He found his feet this month! Like toys that are constantly attached, what could be better. He hates being on his tummy. Hates. May skip crawling entirely for this reason.

He is super ticklish. Especially under his chin, behind his knees, or on his tummy. And extra ticklish when he is sleepy. Gets him every time.

I mean how could I not post this. by miccolene

More pictures because I can't help it!

Ab work.

Time is flyin'! Almost time to have another one. HAHA oh man I am so funny. We sure do love our "baby winc" and are so glad he joined our fam. He has so many giggly moments and also some very tender soft sweet sleepy moments that I'm trying to soak up as much as possible.

Just for fun... makes my uterus ache.

PS. I think I'm going to have to do a Friday phone dump to blog a few fav instagram photos from the week.  (#Imobsessed) They are just too cute not to record and I can't think of a better way?

Isabelle, 32 Months.

I think we all need an Isabelle update.

Oh man she is SO FUNNY. 2 1/2 is the best age ever- she can talk and reason and explain things in her tiny terms and for the most part she makes perfect sense. Sometimes I actually find myself laughing with her- like shes my best friend ever. She can do a lot of things independently which is great for me but also we see how stubborn she is. "I do it myself!" If you do anything for her, she will go back and UNDO what you have done and REDO it herself. Every single time. She is so sassy and fiesty. I wonder where she gets that...

Stuff she says that I want to remember:

  • Yuct! Anything that ends in a -k she pronounces with a -t. Yuckt! Milkt!
  • She always says "One more minute!"If I tell her it's time to go or time to turn off the show or whatever, she tries to bargain for more minutes. Sometimes she looks at our big wall clock and says, "Two minutes on that clock riiiiight there." like she doesn't trust our other clocks.
  • She uses "sleepybye" in place of the word "sleepy." "Oh dis baby is so sleepybye!" or "No mom, I not sweepybye I awake." I love it.
  • We were cleaning the other day and she loves to help, of course, so she had her own swiffer in the living room and marched over to Lincoln and said, "I dust his head."
  • Jazz installed a ceiling fan in her bedroom to help with airflow and she was SO EXCITED. When I laid her in bed that night we were talking about the fan and I said, "what do you think about your new fan?" and she replied, "It be awesome!"
  • The other night she patted her mattress and said, "Mom, come lay by me we go to sweeps together." I died.
  • Jazz was running to the store late one night and after he tucked Isabelle in he reappeared in a hoodie to tell her goodnight before he left. She immediately noticed something was different. "Dad, where are you going in your jacket?" Jazz told her he was running to the store and she said, "Well, will you bring me a cookie?" Smart little thing.
  • Is using the term "favorite" for everything." That be my favorite! Oh this is my favorite show! I love this part- it my favorite! This is my favorite baby!"
  • She throws her arms around my neck and says "oh mom I wuv you SO MUCH."
  • She also tries to "pump" after I have. Turns it on and everything.
I was looking through some pictures from Lincoln's birth and saw the ones where Isabelle came to meet her brother. I was shocked at how different she looks in just five months- she has so much more hair! Her little body is getting tall and lean and she loves to be naked. "No mom I just be naked for awhile." Mostly she wears a t-shirt and thinks she is good to go. She loves her ballet slippers and often wears them out, even to church. Gotta pick your battles, knowwhatimean? She loves water and plays in the sink a lot. Or the tub. Or the pool. The other day she set up her tea party table then bowed her head and blessed the tea party. She says basically all the prayers at our house. A little child shall lead them... oh man I love being her mom.
